The Members Group, which does business as TMG, a financial-services provider to credit unions and community banks, has added a text-message alert service to its reloadable prepaid debit card. Cardholders can choose to receive text alerts based on such specific events as a low balance, load value and transaction history. Users also can send text messages requesting information, such as account balance. Eighty financial institutions offer TMG's Atira reloadable Visa prepaid debit card. TMG clients, usually credit unions or community banks, issue the card through a Visa sponsorship provided by the Iowa Corporate Central Credit Union. Fidelity National Information Services processes the transactions.
