Top-tier Mastercard debuts in Nigeria

Nigeria’s ProvidusBank is the first in the region to launch a World Elite Mastercard, a credit card offering rewards and travel perks such as global concierge services.

Lagos-based ProvidusBank launched the card to serve its growing number of affluent customers who travel frequently, the bank announced Monday.

Cardholders will have access to 24-hour concierge services, complimentary hotel room upgrades and other travel perks, according to the bank.

“The affluent market is increasingly looking for experiences that drive personal growth and happiness, as opposed to the ownership of material possessions,” said Omokehinde Adebanjo, vice president and area business head for ProvidusBank.

ProvidusBank operates six branches in Nigeria.
