Urban Trust Bank Announces Prepaid Card Fee Schedule

Urban Trust Bank has announced a fee schedule for its Visa Inc.-branded Urban Trust Success prepaid card, but it is not known when the bank will issue the card. Cardholders will pay a $4.95 activation fee, a $4.95 monthly fee and a $2.50 fee for ATM withdrawals. Bethesda, Md.-based Urban Trust Bank, the card's issuer, kept the fee schedule simple to help cardholders, said Robert L. Johnson, chairman of Urban Trust Holdings Inc., Urban Trust Bank's parent company. "There are no hidden fees and a variety of free features that will ensure our card is truly the low-cost alternative to expensive services or other prepaid cards," Johnson said in a statement. An Urban Trust Bank spokesperson could not be reached for comment to learn when the financial institution intends to issue the card.
