The Visa Ready Program is the card network's system for quickly certifying emerging payments technology for use on the Visa network. The program, which launched in early 2013, provides access to Visa intellectual property, licenses and best practices.

"Mobile point of sale technology is enabling merchants of all sizes to accept card payments, and helping to displace cash and check payments globally," says Bill Gajda, senior vice president of innovation and strategic partnerships at Visa, in an April 3 news release.

The VeriFone devices participating in the Visa Ready Program include the Payware Mobile e105, e210, e255, e315 and e335. Visa and the other major card networks are pushing most U.S. merchants to accept EMV-chip cards, which improve security over magnetic-stripe cards, by October 2015.
