Virtual Piggy, the parent-controlled money management platform for children, added an experienced mobile banking designer as its new creative director of mobile design.
Ivo Weevers will lead and manage the mobile consumer experience team for Virtual Piggy, a company that enables young people to make purchases under the supervision of their parents. His past work includes leading mobile design at Royal Bank of Scotland and he is a recipient of the British Interactive Media Association's Innovation Award for his work developing mobile payments technology.
Most recently he headed the design team for the Ubuntu operating system, where he directed the design of the full portfolio, including phones, tablets, desktops, apps, cloud services and the brand. Weevers has worked for 15 years in design, creating mobile, web, device and desktop platforms in the telecom, social media, banking, travail, entertainment medical and automotive industries.
"When I was a teenager, I saved money to buy my first CD and my parents allowed me to learn my first steps in managing money. With kids and teens moving into the digital world at a rapid pace, looking after their digital payments is becoming an essential need for both themselves and their parents, said Weevers in a July 1 release.
