The prepaid market is forecasted to grow globally 44% between 2013 and 2018, according to a report from ABI Research.

"Demand for prepaid cards is increasing across [Asia-Pacific, Central Europe, the Middle East and Africa], which includes some of the world's fastest growing regions," says Stacey Pinkerd, head of products for Asia-Pacific at Visa, in a Nov. 20 press release. "To make sure Visa can quickly respond to issuer and partner's needs, we are delighted to announce a strategic alliance with i2c that will improve prepaid processing options to cardholders throughout the region."

Visa and i2c will focus on a range of prepaid payment options, such as virtual prepaid and government disbursement. I2c also provides mobile and emerging payment processing. In more than 10 markets, i2c already works with Visa prepaid partners.
