Jakarta, Indonesia-based PT Shell has selected Germany-based Wirecard to provide a digital financial platform for its new Shell Fleet Card program.
Wirecard will develop a solution enabling fleet card users to make purchases at all Shell petrol stations throughout Indonesia, with tools for managing fuel use and driver efficiency, Wirecard said in a Thursday press release.
The EMV card-based solution generates data that fleet card administrators may use for real-time monitoring of fleets and to generate reports, according to the release.
“With the launch of the Shell Fleet Card, Shell Indonesia [can] deliver a combination of comprehensive business operations solutions with high-tech payment facility,” said Hani Rochani, commercial fleet manager of PT Shell Indonesia, in the release.
Shell operates more than 70 Shell-branded retail outlets in Indonesia in the greater Jakarta and Bandung zones, and Shell Commercial Fleet extends across 34 countries with various partners, the release noted.
