The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco Names Executive

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco has appointed Thomas E. Cleveland to its advisory council.

Mr. Cleveland is chairman, CEO, and co-founder of Access Business Finance, Bellevue, Wash., which provides asset-based working capital for small and midsize companies.

Mr. Cleveland started his banking career with Bank of America in 1971 as an account officer. In 1984 he became president and chief executive officer of Gibraltar Savings of Washington, and in 1988 he founded Enterprise Bank, which focused on independent businesses and Pacific Rim trade.

He ran Enterprise for seven years before selling it to Washington Mutual. He was also a San Francisco Fed director in Seattle from 1993 to 1996.
