Intrust of Kansas Using Pointe2Pointe

Intrust Financial Corp. of Wichita is using Viewpointe LLC's Pointe2Pointe service to exchange check images with other banks.

Viewpointe, which plans to announce its deal with the $3.4 billion-asset Intrust today, introduced Pointe2Pointe in 2005 to enable banks that do not use its shared image archive to exchange images with other companies that use its services. Its archiving customers include 11 large banking companies and Fiserv Inc., the nation's largest nonbank check processor.

Intrust is sending images to Viewpointe through an Internet connectivity service introduced last year to appeal to companies with low check volume. Pointe2Pointe clients can also use a dedicated connection to reach Viewpointe.

Intrust was one of the first banking companies to clear check images. It began testing image exchange technology in 2002.

"We have been looking for an appropriate check image exchange solution and found that Viewpointe's Pointe2Pointe Internet connectivity was the most effective and cost-efficient way for us to reach other financial institutions," Deanna Voyles, Intrust Bank's senior vice president of operations, said in a Viewpointe press release.
