MoneyGram International Inc. said Thursday it has hired Juan Agualimpia as a senior vice president and its chief marketing officer to oversee the company's global branding and marketing efforts.

Agualimpia is to report to the Minneapolis money transfer company's chief executive, Pamela Patsley. He has held senior marketing and management jobs at several major companies, most recently as a vice president and general manager at Newell Rubbermaid Inc.

"Juan is an established veteran in the marketing arena, and his experience in large, consumer-centric, international organizations will make him a valuable asset," Patsley said in a press release.
