Mitek Income Rises on Mobile Imaging Sales

Mitek Systems Inc. said the number of financial institutions using its mobile-imaging technology for check deposits and other functions has doubled to 80 in its third fiscal quarter, which ended June 30.

Twenty-four of those customers have launched their mobile deposit products to consumers, the San Diego vendor said.

"We are very pleased with the trajectory of mobile deposit," James DeBello, Mitek's president and chief executive, said in a press release Monday. "We remain in the early stages of what we believe to be widespread adoption."

Its net income rose to $325,000 in the third quarter, up from a loss of $647,000 a year earlier. Its net sales rose 260%, to $2,954,000.
