Web Hosting Startup Banno Appoints President

Banking technology start-up Banno announced Tuesday it has created a new position of president and hired someone to fill that role.

Charles E. Potts, who previously sat on the Cedar Falls, Iowa, company's advisory board, will be in charge of streamlining Banno's business strategy.

"I'm all things revenue," he says. "It begins and ends there."

Before Banno, Potts was a managing director of business alliances and international sales at ProfitStars. The announcement only deepens Banno's partnership with the division of established core banking company Jack Henry (JKHY), Potts says.

ProfitStars recently began offering bill pay and mobile remote deposit capture technology through Banno's Grip - a smartphone app that helps bank customers decide whether to make purchases, without requiring integration with a bank's core system.

"My history and background is in growing and maximizing channel partner relationships," Potts says of his specialty.
