Experian said Tuesday that it's providing prepaid card service provider Cardplatforms with its global authentication services. The partnership will help Cardplatforms roll out prepaid cards worldwide, the credit bureau said.

Experian explained that it will lend its Prove-ID and AutoDoc-ID services to Cardplatforms in an effort to help the Boca Raton, Fla. company provide data verification, fraud screening and online document authentication.

The deal will specifically bolster Cardplatforms' payroll and benefits program aimed at employees of maritime shipping companies.

"Adopting Experian's global authentication services as part of our issuing environment ensures that we as a company are aligned with debit card associations' and banking agencies' regulatory requirements so that we can best serve the varied needs of our cardholders through prepaid cards," said Cardplatforms chief executive Jeff Foster in a press release.
