New Year's Eve is a time for reflecting on what the heck happened in the last 12 months even on Twitter.

Case in point, Mercantile Bank used an app Wednesday to create an animated portrait of the Michigan bank's 2013 top activity on the social-media site, including the top 10 tweets of the year, Golden Tweets those that generated the most retweets and more.

Jim Marous, senior vice president of corporate development at New Control, banker David Gerbino, and Bank Innovation, an industry blog, have also made available Twitter recaps using the app Vizify.

Vizify, which creates graphical bios from data collected online, was founded in 2011 in Portland, Oregon.

Bank Technology News' animated portrait (our Twitter handle is @BankTechNews), can be viewed here. And below are our brand's top tweets for the year.
