Empire National in N.Y. Adds TD, Commerce Veteran to Board

Empire National Bank in Islandia, N.Y., has named former Commerce Bank president and chief executive Robert Falese to its board.

The $517 million-asset Empire created a new board seat for Falese, a bank spokesperson said. In a press release, Douglas Manditch, Empire's chairman and chief executive, noted Falese's experience at both Commerce and as chairman of commercial banking for TD Bank.

"Bob is a 40-year veteran of the banking profession," Manditch said. "His experience provides us with a valuable and respected resource as we chart the bank's future growth."

Falese is the president of his own investment firm, Falese Investments, and consults with the private-equity firm Patriot Financial Partners.
