Commerce Bancshares in Kansas City, Mo., has established relationships with several new organizations, including environmental groups and universities, to offer co-branded credit cards.
Commerce will issue co-branded cards for the conservation groups Whitetails Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Sustain: Green. The affinity cards carry special rewards, such as the Sustain: Green MasterCard letting users reduce their carbon footprints and contribute to rainforest protection funds, based on each purchase.
The $24 billion-asset company will also issue affinity cards for Wayne State University, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Michigan Technological University, Bryant University, Central Connecticut State University, the University of South Alabama, Southwest Oklahoma State University and the University of Tulsa.
