Farmers National in Ohio Appoints New Chief

Farmers National Banc (FMNB) in Canfield, Ohio, has named Kevin Helmick its permanent president and chief executive officer.

Helmick, 41, had served as interim president and chief executive of the $1 billion-asset company since Oct. 4, according to Farmers' Thursday press release. The company's board of directors relieved former CEO John Gulas, 54, of his duties in late September, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. A Farmers National spokeswoman declined to comment on the reasons behind Gulas's exit.

Helmick has spent his entire 18-year career with Farmers National. He was hired as a teller in 1994 and moved up through the ranks, most recently serving as the company's executive vice president of retail and wealth management.
