Huntington, Chase Branch Unis Draw Fashion Raves

Is Huntington Bank's signature green the new black? Or is it Chase Bank's blue?

The two banks' sartorial choices for their branch employees drew honors this month from the Image Apparel Institute. Huntington and Chase received Image of the Year Awards, tying in the retail establishments/non-food category.

The winners were picked by a panel of judges representing "a cross section of the fashion industry's most celebrated designers, journalists and fashion authorities," the institute said in a press release.

Chase's branch uniforms were honored for being "easy care," meaning washable wool, no-iron shirts and anti-pilling sweaters. But it's about more than function for Chase - the institute also highlighted the array of styles and "pops of color" from accessories like ties, scarves and cufflinks. The bank unit of JPMorgan Chase (JPM) was recognized along its apparel supplier, Lands' End.

Huntington's (HBAN) uniforms for its 6,000 employees were introduced in 2010 and are black, white and green. The uniform "extends the Huntington Bank brand, provides consistency and improves customer experience overall," the institute said in its release. Huntington was honored along with apparel company Twin Hill.

"We are honored to be recognized by the Image Apparel Institute for our retail collection," David Clifton, chief customer and marketing officer at Huntington, said in a press release. "We take pride in our Huntington green vest and congratulate Twin Hill on receiving this esteemed award."
