ST. PAUL, Minn. Affinity Plus FCU will gain approximately 4,600 members and $25 million in assets from Illinois-based Oak Trust CU at the close of business June 30, after regulators approved an unusual branch acquisition deal.
Oak Trust, which serves mostly employees of Thomson Reuters news agency, has two branches, one in Illinois and the other in the Twin Cities suburb of Eagan, Minn. Its Minnesota members fit into Affinity Plus’s broad field of membership.
Affinity Plus is keeping the branch’s three employees and adding three more, including the branch manager. The $1.7-billion credit union has remodeled the branch to accommodate more traffic.
The Eagan branch is Oak Trust’s only Minnesota location.
