Coinstar Buys Pre-Paid CardCompany

BELLEVUE, Wash. - (03/11/05) -- Coinstar Inc. said it has acquiredMundo Communications Inc., an issuer of prepaid cards, in a dealthat will give Coinstar a much stronger presence on the West Coast.Mundo Communications has 2,300 retail customers in the Westernstates, which includes convenience stores, truck stops andindependent retailers. Mundo Communications operated as El ToroPrepaid before being sold. It only will use El Toro Prepaid in thefuture. The company sells prepaid MasterCards, gift cards, wirelessand long-distance telephone cards. Many of the cards arereloadable. Coinstar will sell the cards either at the cashregister or through its green-colored kiosks.
