The following CUs opened new branches:

* Mountain America Credit Union opened its 31st branch in Roosevelt, Utah.

* Wescom Credit Union opened its 21st branch in Simi Valley, Calif.

* Arkansas Federal Credit Union opened a branch in Conway, Ark.

* Electrus Federal Credit Union relocated to Brooklyn Center, Minn.

* Fort Belvoir Federal Credit Union renovated its Woodbridge Operations Center, Va.

* Southeast Corporate opened a 7,000-square -foot item processing facility in Jacksonville, Fla.

* The Desert West Division of Mountain America Credit Union opened a branch in Albuquerque, N.M.

* Landmark Credit Union opened its 2nd in-store branch in Wal-Mart in Watertown, Wis.

* Teachers Federal Credit Union initiated a shared service center outlet in its newly opened North Babylon, N.Y. branch.

WesCorp Hosts Mexican Visitors

SAN DIMAS, Calif.-WesCorp Federal Credit Union was host to two credit union executives from Mexico. The pair was on tour as part of a coordinated effort by the World Council of Credit Unions. They spent time in each department to learn how a corporate credit union's operations are conducted in the U.S.

PSCU Sponsors Diabetes Walkathon

FRESNO, Calif.-Pacific Service Credit Union donated $2,500 to sponsor a walkathon that benefited the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

AOFCU Offers Financial Program

RIDGECREST, Calif.-AltaOne Federal Credit Union has provided students at Kern Valley High School with the NEFE High School Financial Planning Program.

Dora Maxwell Awards Given

WICHITA, Kan.-The Kansas Credit Union Association announced that Credit Union of Dodge City and Golden Plains Credit Union of Garden City each won first place in the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Program for Credit Unions at the statewide level.

CEFCU Awards 8 Scholarships

PEORIA, Ill.-CEFCU announced the recipients of CEFCU Member Appreciation Scholarships. Each student was awarded $4,000 to Bradley University and the winners are: Abi Ackerman, Amanda Allison, Kathryn Densberger, Kelli Kupferschmid, Tiffany Mack, Natalie Shoop, James Siegle, and Phillip Quine.

CTCU Collects Toys For Tots

GURNEE, Ill.-Community Trust Credit Union collected toys and gift items for the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army's Angel Tree programs. "It's heartwarming to see how these two gift-giving programs have become such a tradition at Community Trust," said Marketing Director Michelle Huffine.

NWPCU Awards 4 Scholarships

EVERETT, Wash.-NorthWest Plus Credit Union will award $1,000 scholarships to four high school seniors this June. The deadline for submissions is March 16.

Mass. CUs Raise $220,000

WOBURN, Mass.-EasCorp announced that the Credit Unions of Massachusetts Kids at Heart Team presented a $220,000 check to Children's Hospital Boston during a live broadcast of the Children's Hospital Telethon.

SSABFCU Wins Trailblazer Awards

BALTIMORE, Md.-The SSA Baltimore FCU was awarded two Trailblazer Awards from the Maryland CU League for Best Annual Report and Best in the Potpourri category.

In additional news, the credit union raised $1,900 to benefit the American Heart Association. The bulk of the funds were raised at the Association's 5K Walk-a-thon.

CCU Receives Dora Maxwell Award

SAN DIEGO, Calif.-Cabrillo Credit Union received an honorable mention Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award for its community involvement efforts.

SFCU Sponsors Blood Drive

DECU Donates $10,000 To CUES

DETROIT, Mich.-Detroit Edison Credit Union donated $10,000 to CUES' new building fund to help ensure the future growth and development of credit unions worldwide. The two-story, 30,000-square-foot CUES building is located in Fitchburg, Wis.
