Kitsap Credit Union in Bremerton, Wash., has named Shawn Gilfedder as its new president and CEO.

Gilfedder succeeds Elliot Gregg, who will continue as president emeritus, the $1.2 billion-asset Kitsap said last week. The change was effective Oct. 1. Gregg, who led Kitsap for almost two decades, plans to retire in January.
Gilfedder formerly served as the president and CEO of the $420 million-asset McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union in East Windsor, N.J. Kitsap said that during his tenure at MHFCU, Gilfedder expanded its membership by more than 100 percent and increased assets by 150 percent.
“Shawn’s visionary and creative approach to leading is a perfect match for our credit union,” Susan Baker, vice chair of Kitsap’s board, said in a statement. “We are confident that Shawn will propel the credit union to new heights while honoring its rich history.”
Kitsap retained the recruiting firm of DDJ Myers to conduct the nationwide executive search.
