DENVER - (05/30/06) Members of Gateway CUoverwhelmingly approved the merger of the credit union intoWesterra CU, creating the states third largest credit union,with $900 million in assets and 76,000 members. Westerra CU wasitself formed less than a year ago by the combination of DPS CU andSafeway Rocky Mountain CU. Alan Peppers, president and CEO ofWesterra CU, will head the newly formed credit union giant. Theonly credit unions bigger in Colorado are Ent FCU and BellcoCU.
