Gerald Guy, longtime president and CEO of KEMBA Financial Credit Union in Ghanna, Ohio, is set to retire.

Mark Decello is the new CEO at KEMBA Financial

Mark Decello, who is currently chief operating officer at the institution, will take over as president and CEO on Nov. 1, KEMBA said on Wednesday. He has worked at KEMBA since 2009.

“KEMBA, its members, and associates, are very fortunate to have someone of Mark’s caliber, experience, and commitment to the credit union industry step into this role,” Guy said in a press release.

During Guy’s 30 years at the helm, KEMBA has grown to become the largest central Ohio-based credit union, with more than $1.3 billion in assets and nearly 104,000 members, the institution said.

“Jerry has been a distinguished leader for KEMBA, and an influential force in the credit union movement,” Donna Folberth, chairman, said in a statement. “His substantial contributions will be recognized for years to come, and he will be missed.”

KEMBA earned $7.5 million in the first half of 2018, down about 5.5 percent from the same period a year earlier.
