BOSTON A recent Aite Group survey confirmed what many FIs have suspected consumers age 65 and older have little interest in mobile banking.
Ron Shevlin, senior analyst, told Credit Union Journal the biggest reason is the form factor. “The cell phone or smart phone, for older adults, is just too darn small to read. Plus, consumers in this age group are not fans of mobile because they have little incentive to change and mobile simply is not that important to them.”
The finding is from a report titled: “Mobile Banking Forecast: Smart Phone and Tablet Use in the United States.” Of those 65 and older surveyed, 10% owned a smart phone and 14% a tablet device.
