LEBANON, Ore. – Two Lebanon elementary schools will receive $5,000 from OSU Community FCU for projects submitted as part of credit union’s grand opening celebration for its new branch here.
Green Acres and Cascades elementary schools will receive a share of a $5,000 award. Winners were chosen by a community vote.
The selection was whittled down to the final three after more than 28,000 online votes were cast. Final balloting was conducted in the Lebanon branch with more than 400 people voting.
The top prize of $3,000 went to Green Acres for the purchase of educational toys for high-needs and special education students. Cascades will receive $1,500 for new computers for first-grade students. The third-place prize of $500 was awarded to Green Acres to develop an outdoor garden to provide a variety of classes with hands-on learning.
