HARRISBURG, Penn.–Payday lender Advance America, Cash Advance Centers Inc., said it will pull out of Pennsylvania and close the 66 offices currently operating in the state.

The company had earlier announced plans to close 31 Pennsylvania offices after a state court forced it to cease lending in Pennsylvania.
“We congratulate the Banking Department on ridding Pennsylvania of this particular predatory lender,” said Jim McCormack, Association President/CEO in a released statement. “Unfortunately, there are many others still operating in the state.” The PCUA offers a payday lending program called “Better Choice” currently in place at 62 Pennsylvania CUs.
