WOODBURY, Minn. — Pipefiters Steamfitters CU here has completed its conversion to Sharetec's core system, the two organizations announced Thursday.
With Sharetec in place, the $31 million-asset credit union will be able to leverage new technologies and offer additional services to members. Pipefitters is attempting to move to an entirely paper-free workplace in order to lower costs and improve efficiency, and a core conversion to Sharetec was said to be part of the strategy for achieving that goal.
Pipefitters Steamfitters CU said it can now offer e-documents, e-receipts and more, along with other online tools to give members more self-service functionalities.
"Core conversions can be overwhelming, but the Sharetec team made sure ours went as smoothly as possible," Pipefitters CEO Jennifer Davis said in a statement. "The transition and staff training went beyond our expectations and we didn't experience any major issues. We are confident Sharetec will provide us all the tools needed to grow our membership and cut costs."
According to Keane Kulak, Sharetec System regional director, Pipefitters is already seeing improvements after the conversion.
"The credit union has an incredible staff, but needed a core system that would support them in their growth and member service goals," said Kulak. "Now with improved back office processes and streamlined lending and account services that Sharetec provides, they will accomplish those goals."
