SAN DIEGO San Diego County CU said this afternoon it has introduced a new capability for its mobile technology which allows Visa card holders to transfer their credit card accounts from other financial institutions to a San Diego County CU Visa credit card.
The Easy Balance Transfer app, available for Apple iPhone and Google Android users, was developed by nearby Mitek Systems, whose technology also enables the credit union’s Mobile Deposit.
Visa credit cardholders can simply use their online banking username and password to log into the Easy Balance Transfer App and then use the app to take a photo of the bottom payment stub from a credit card bill from another financial institution. The app will read the company's name, address and payment amount. Then, the credit union member, after reviewing the card information, can click "submit" to conveniently process the balance transfer.
"SDCCU customers don't need to remain burdened with a large credit card balance at a big bank when a credit card balance transfer is so quick, easy and secure using your mobile phone," said Teresa Halleck, president of the $6.2 billion credit union.
