SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – SESLOC FCU announced Friday that its CEO Bertha Foxford is retiring after 48 years with the credit union and will be succeeded as head of the $530 million institution by Geri LaChance, chief operating officer at North Island CU in nearby San Diego.
LaChance has been at North Island, for 23 years, 19 as a senior executive. Her responsibilities at the $1.1 billion credit union have included branch and contact center administration, the investment and insurance division, marketing and public relations, human resources and legal.
Foxford joined the SESLOC staff in 1963, as the fledgling credit union's third employee. During her 48 years, the credit union has grown from a staff of three in a borrowed office in the Cal Poly Agriculture building to an organization of 104 employees serving 34,000 members.
