Shot Fired Into Ceiling During Robbery At CalCom FCU

TORRANCE, Calif. — The $63 million CalCom Federal Credit Union was robbed Tuesday and authorities are seeking three suspects in the incident.

According to local media reports, the police did not disclose the amount of money taken but a broadcast to other law enforcement agencies noted the criminals took $33,000.

The three robbers entered the CU at approximately 11:40 a.m. and ordered members and employees to the floor. One suspect was armed with a handgun. The suspect fired one shot into the ceiling.

Some people inside the branch were able to call the police.

The three suspects reportedly took cash and left in a blue 2005 Kia Optima. The vehicle was found abandoned a few blocks away.
