Branches Are Hot Spots

WARMINSTER, Penn.-Freedom Credit Union here has made four of its branches Wi-Fi hotspots. There is no charge to access the wireless networks. "Members can simply locate the network called '4Members' in the list of available wireless networks, and then select the network," the credit union said.

America First Goes Mobile

RIVERDALE, Utah--America First Credit Union has rolled out mobile banking for its members for both the Android and Apple operating systems. Included with the launch is a text banking option, along with mobile bill pay, ATM locators and e-mail alerts related to potentially fraudulent activity.

Co-op Services Relaunches Site

DEARBORN, Mich.-Co-op Services Credit Union has relaunched its Web site, saying the new design provides more content but is also easier to navigate. Live chat is available during business hours for visitors to seek online assistance, a service that will be available 24-hours a day beginning in October.

Also next month, Co-op Services plans to release a mobile version of the site. Other options include links to social media and to "CSCU Smile," a dedicated site that allows members to find photos of recent CU events and download photos to their individual Facebook pages.

Veridian Moves To Dwolla

DES MOINES, Iowa-—Veridian Credit Union said it will integrate online, mobile, social and location-based payments solution Dwolla with its online banking solution, known to members as Veridian Home Banking. The integration will provide users with one log-in for both online banking and Dwolla payment solutions. Once Dwolla is launched in the first quarter of 2012, members will enter their normal home banking credentials to access Dwolla directly from Veridian’s online banking interface. Dwolla will allow members to make payments to anyone with an e-mail address or cell phone number, as well as their Facebook and Twitter friends, directly from inside Veridian Home Banking. CSI Complete HEIT Acquisition

PADUCAH, Ky.—Computer Services Inc. (CSI) said it has completed the acquisition of Fort Collins, Colo.-based HEIT, a provider of cloud-based managed compliance, security and IT services and programs. The HEIT acquisition will add 400 financial institutions to CSI’s customer base.
