A pair of credit unions in western Michigan – Battle Creek Area Community Federal Credit Union and Honor Credit Union – have announced their intention to form a partnership in order to "align resources" and "offer even greater opportunities" for both memberships.
Based in Springfield, Mich., BCACFCU has $19.2 million in assets and one branch location in Battle Creek. Berrien Springs-based Honor CU (about 80 miles southwest of Battle Creek) has $706 million in assets.
Once the move is approved by regulators and members, Battle Creek Area Community FCU will become a part of Honor CU, with the resulting entity holding more than $725 million in assets and serving more than 65,000 members across Michigan. .
"We are excited to be entering a partnership with Honor Credit Union," Battle Creek Area Community FCU CEO Liz Amundson said in a statement. "Combining forces with an organization that shares our core beliefs and values is key and we look forward to expanding upon our tradition of excellent member service."
Honor CU CEO Scott McFarland said his CU is "excited to partner with BCACFCU and the opportunities that will come with working together with this great team and community."
