SAN DIEGO – A finely-coifed robber who favors tailored suits apparently held up a Chase branch here Friday, the 10th area bank or credit union he has hit since May.

The suspect, dubbed by the FBI as the “Well-Dressed Bandit,” is believed to be the same man who robbed a Point Loma CU branch twice this year, on Feb. 11 and June 17, and Mission FCU in Solana Beach on April 6 and Aug. 2.

In the Friday heist, the man entered the Chase branch, simulated a weapon and demanded money. He left with cash and was seen getting into a black Lexus or Mercedes-Benz, police said. He was wearing a hooded jacket, cap and scarf, all black, and dark slacks and shoes.

Surveillance photos from some previous heists show him in a suit, sports jacket or dark leather jacket. In some robberies, he is shown with a dark scarf covering his face.
