Prior Retires From Power Financial

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla.-Henry M. Prior, CEO of Power Financial CU will step down in February after a 35-year career in the financial services industry. Prior helped PFCU grow to $495 million with 11 branches that serve 59,300 members. When asked what he would change, "No question, I would have spent my entire career in the credit union industry," he said. "It has been a wonderful ride watching our credit union and the industry grow and prosper over the years."

CU Champion Dublin Dead at 91

FEDERAL WAY, Wash.-Credit union pioneer Jack Dublin, a 70-plus year supporter of the credit union movement and one of the last remaining individuals to work directly with Edward A. Filene and Roy Bergengren died at his Edmonds home Dec. 2, after a long illness.

Dublin is survived by his wife Selma, with whom he wrote two books: Credit Unions in a Changing World, The Tanzania/Kenya Experience and Credit Unions: Theory and Practice, as well as a number of children and grandchildren.

Founding Father of IBM CU Passes

JOHNSON CITY, N.Y.-Walter Grabowski, who helped charter one of more than two dozen IBM employees CUs-which combined and grew to become a billion-dollar CU-has died at 88. Grabowski helped organize what is now Visions FCU by convincing dock workers and assembly line workers at IBM to pool their savings.

Youth Urged To Stash Cash At CU

The National Youth Saving Challenge, held in conjunction with Youth Week, encourages young members to open accounts and make savings deposits throughout the week.
