USU Credit Union, a division of Goldenwest CU, Ogden, Utah, broke ground on a new branch in Providence, Utah.
Taunton
Taunton FCU began serving employees of the City of Taunton, Mass., from an office in the basement of City Hall in 1947. Each year, to honor its roots, staffers deliver ice cream to and hold a raffle for city employees to thank them for their continued support.
Dover
When U.S. Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) returned home from Capitol Hill his first stop was Dover FCU, Dover, Del., which had recently been named the 2015 U.S. Air Force Credit Union of the Year. Senator Carper met members of the board, executive management and team members.
Indiana Members
Indiana Members Foundation, the charitable arm of Indiana Members CU, Indianapolis, awarded $8,500 in grants through its Joan Wolfe Legacy Grant Program to four organizations. The grants will provide children with the necessities essential for learning and succeeding in their education.
Michigan Community
Michigan Community CU, Jackson, Mich., awarded its quarterly Forward Thinking Grant to East Jackson Elementary School. The school received $1,540 to help purchase handheld microphones for seven classrooms.
SPIRE
Employees of SPIRE CU, Falcon Heights, Minn., participated in the Minnesota CU Foundation Financial Literacy 5K, with CEO Dan Stoltz personally contributing $50 for each participant who beat his time. ALL participants from SPIRE beat Stoltzs time, generating $500.
FreeStar
On behalf of FreeStar Financial CU (formerly known as Central Macomb Community CU) in Clinton Township, Mich., the Michigan CU League was honored with a CUNA Councils 2016 Diamond Award for its work on the custom production Vets Returning Home documentary.
Greenville
Greenville FCU, Greenville, S.C., introduced its new mascot, Clark, a young, financially-savvy owl. Clark is a dependable, trustworthy and helpful high school student who truly cares about his community.
Americas Christian
Employees of Americas Christian CU, Glendora, Calif., raised $1,534 in a seven-day fundraising campaign for the family of 3-year-old Finley Smallwood, who has spastic cerebral palsy, unable to walk, and in need of specialized surgery that would bring the hope of strengthening her legs.
SECU
State Employees CU, Raleigh, N.C., is renovating the iconic Blue Cross and Blue Shield headquarters in Chapel Hill into a state-of-the-art data center. Separately, a $500,000 grant from the SECU Foundation helped to fund the construction of SECU Veterans Hall, a new dormitory that will house female cadets attending Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy.
Arrha
Arrha CU, Springfield, Mass., opened a new branch on Park Avenue in West Springfield.
