Coastal Credit Union Chooses Jack Henry Core Banking Software

Coastal Credit Union in Raleigh, N.C., has announced plans to convert to a core platform from Symitar, a division of the financial technology firm Jack Henry & Associates.

The $2.2 billion credit union will run the Episys platform in-house, Symitar said Wednesday. Coastal was the largest credit union on its previous provider's platform and wanted to be able to add features and processing capabilities as it grows, the release said.

The platform will also allow Coastal to collaborate with other large credit unions to develop custom programs through Episys' PowerOn Marketplace, a forum in which credit unions can share and review programming ideas.

"Symitar's Episys system offers fast, easy flowing transfer of information and transactions across a multi-channel environment," said Tami Langton, vice president of business transformations at Coastal Credit Union, in a news release. "As channels grow increasingly complex, the core has to be nimble enough to support real-time channel needs and not create barriers to the movement of data between those channels."
