COCC Hires Exec from Open Solutions to Head Marketing

Fintech core processing software provider COCC has hired a new marketing head from former rival Open Solutions, which Fiserv bought last month.

David Mitchell has been named Avon, Conn.-based COCC's senior vice president and chief partnership officer, it announced Wednesday. He will be in charge of corporate and product marketing and new business development.

The position is new, a COCC spokesman said. Steve Kayser, the company's former marketing head, will focus on client relationships.

Mitchell has been with Open Solutions, a core banking software maker, since 2000. Most recently, he was the company's executive vice president and chief product officer responsible for product strategy and development. He has also served as Open Solutions' chief marketing officer.

Fiserv agreed to buy Open Solutions for $55 million last month, taking on $960 million in debt in the deal.

"David is ideally suited to take our company's cutting edge technology and service practices to the next level," said COCC president and chief executive Richard Leone in a news release. "David will be an incredible asset to COCC and will play a crucial role in promoting the unique qualities of our technology partnerships, their role in guiding our decisions, ensuring our continued growth, and generating fierce loyalty to the COCC brand."
