Comerica Appoints Chief Information Security Officer

Comerica Bank in Dallas has named a former Morgan Stanley (MS) executive as its chief information security officer.

George Smirnoff III will oversee Comerica's security program, including the development of long-term security strategies, Comerica, a unit of the $62.6 billion-asset Comerica Inc. (CMA), said Wednesday. He also will ensure that the bank continues to meet industry and regulatory security standards.

Smirnoff most recently served as the global chief operating officer of operational risk and information security officer for Morgan Stanley. With almost 20 years of technology experience, he previously held leadership positions at technology consulting firm Trexin Consulting, Ernst & Young and PRG-Schultz International.
