Commonwealth Bank Launches Android Payments App

Commonwealth Bank of Australia is offering a social payments app called CommBank Kaching for the Android in addition to launching a Facebook (FB) app later this year.

CommBank Kaching is available on Google Play for use on 13 Android devices. It lets users make peer-to-peer payments using a recipient’s mobile phone or email address. Customers will also be able to make payments to their Facebook friends, the Sydney company said Thursday.

The iPhone version of the Kaching app, which has been out for several months, now provides for bump payments, allowing money to be exchanged or a payment to be made by tapping two phones together.

The CommBank Kaching Facebook app will allow customers to view their balances and transactions, make peer-to-peer payments and complete third-party transfers.
