National Australia Bank is formulating service level agreement tools for companies to use to secure data in cloud applications. It's one of the goals of the Open Data Center Alliance, which counts NAB and a number of other international firms as members, including Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase.

The user-driven requirements are based on cloud computing challenges faced by Alliance member organizations, the independent IT consortium said Wednesday. The usage models build on the Alliance’s plan to define IT requirements for open, interoperable cloud computing solutions, the group said.
Four of the usage models and the overview document target security. The security usage models are meant to drive interoperability between identity management and access management systems that allow users to utilize resources in the cloud.
The fifth usage model focuses on long distance virtual machine migration.
