Diebold Releases ATM Line with Multiple Security Options

Diebold has released a new series of ATMs that include security protections.

The new machines, known as the 5500 series, feature a card reader that’s meant to prevent skimming by requiring users to insert their cards on the long edge. Additional features, such as biometric finger vein readers, security camera provisioning, encryption technology, and monitoring can be added for stronger security. Another optional feature is videoconferencing.

The machines will be unveiled this week at the ATM Industry Association's security conference in London.

Diebold is based in North Canton, Ohio.
