Diebold to Provide Services to Alliance

Diebold Inc. said Wednesday it would upgrade the automated teller machines used by Alliance Credit Union and perform other outsourced banking services.

Alliance, of San Jose, has agreed to use Diebold for deposit automation, currency management, risk mitigation, transaction processing, self-service technology and other services. Overall, Diebold, of North Canton, Ohio, replaces nine vendor relationships for Alliance.

"One of our main goals was to cut down the number of vendors we were working with," Melina Schoonover, Alliance's assistant vice president, said in a press release. Through Diebold, Alliance can "have everything under one umbrella and have better control over our vendor relationship and service quality."

Diebold would also replace or upgrade the credit union's 12 ATMs. The updated machines would have advanced deposit automation technology, which Alliance said makes it more competitive with rivals.
