Capitol Bancorp Ltd. of Lansing, Mich., has named David D. Fortune as its chief credit officer, a newly created job.
Mr. Fortune was the head of credit administration for the western region of the $2.9 billion-asset company. Before that he had been an executive vice president and the chief credit officer of Mesa Bank, one its 31 banks.
Capitol Bancorp also hired Bruce D. Jones as the president of its southeast region, which covers 11 states. He will begin Sept. 1 and be based in China Grove, N.C.
Mr. Jones was the president and chief executive officer of Rowan Savings Bank of China Grove and a vice president and director of its parent company, FNB Corp. of Asheboro, N.C. (FNB said Janet D. Abernethy, a senior vice president at Rowan Savings, has been named the thrift's interim CEO.)
PrivateBancorp Inc. of Chicago has named Patrick F. Daly to the boards of the $2.2 billion company and its PrivateBank and Trust Co.
Mr. Daly is the chief executive officer and the founder of Daly Group LLC, a real estate development, brokerage, and construction management company in Chicago.
SOUTHEASTWest Georgia National Bank in Carrollton has promoted Delene Strickland to controller.
Ms. Strickland was an assistant banking officer in the finance department at the $422 million-asset bank, which she joined three years ago. Its holding company is WGNB Corp.
