Fannie Mae has named the former chief litigation counsel for Pfizer (PFE) as its general counsel and corporate secretary.

Bradley Lerman's appointment is effective Oct. 1, Fannie Mae said Tuesday. Lerman, 56, has more than 25 years of legal experience. At Pfizer, he was responsible for leading the pharmaceutical company's product and commercial litigation, government investigations and patent litigation teams.

Prior to joining Pfizer, Lerman was a partner at Winston & Strawn and co-chair of the firm's white collar defense practice group. He concentrated on white-collar defense, product liability and securities litigation matters.
