Feedback: Article Condescends to Generation Y

Re: "r u Ready 4 New Ways 2 Engage?" [Aug. 27]

As both a member of Generation Y and an active communications professional, I find the viewpoints in this article condescending and an inaccurate snapshot of effective marketing.

The suggestions made completely discredit the importance of, and need for, financial education amongst the Gen-Y crowd.

Furthermore, there's no way that Generation Y is going to respond to a text from their bank that says: WOOt ur pymnt all up 2d8.

This mind-set and mentality is why financial institutions are massively failing in terms of connecting with younger consumers. This is not what financial institutions need to be doing.
