Fifth Third Updates Video Surveillance System

Fifth Third Bancorp has started a nationwide upgrade of its video surveillance systems from March Networks.

The update will affect more than 1,300 branches, data centers, corporate offices and operations and cash handling facilities for the bank, March Networks, based in Ottawa, Ontario, said Monday. The Cincinnati-based Fifth Third has already started deploying 12,000 new Internet and analog cameras.

The $112 billion-asset bank will also pilot March Networks Searchlight portfolio for data analytics to detect and reduce losses from fraud at ATMs and teller lines.
