Fiserv Sees Momentum in Mobile Check Capture

Fiserv Inc. said Monday that more than a dozen financial institutions signed up for its mobile source capture product.

Financial institutions use this product to offer customers a downloadable application for a smartphone or tablet that allows the user to take a picture of a check and deposit it electronically.

One of its recent clients is Adirondack Trust Co., which is based in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and has more than $900 million in assets.

"We are seeing tremendous interest from clients of all sizes and are signing new clients every month, both banks and credit unions," Gary Brand, director of source capture solutions, said in a press release Monday. "Many of our clients are telling us that they are using mobile remote deposit capture as a gateway into the mobile banking arena for consumers, as well as small business, and doing so quite successfully."
