Global Cash Access Inc., a Las Vegas provider of cash machines for casinos, has hired Scott H. Betts, a First Data Corp. executive, as its president and chief executive.

He succeeded Kirk Sanford, who has retired "to pursue other interests and spend time with his family," Global Cash said Wednesday.
Mr. Betts, 53, is also the interim chief financial officer for Global Cash. He worked at First Data for five years, most recently as an executive vice president and the president of domestic enterprise payments. He also oversaw Global Cash, which First Data spun off in 2004.
