Global Consumer Acquisition Corp. of New York has terminated negotiations to buy the Nevada branches that BB&T Corp. picked up in the failure of Colonial Bank.

Global Consumer said that BB&T, of Winston-Salem, N.C., had proposed terms that were "far less compelling" than the initial deal offered by Colonial.

A BB&T spokeswoman said Monday that it wants to sell the Nevada branches and expects to find another buyer. "Nevada is still not part of out ongoing strategy," she said. "Our plans have not changed."
